ALL Biosciences students are welcome and encouraged to participate in BioAIMS events!

Becoming a member is easy - just join our mailing lists to find out about our upcoming events or stop by an event to say hi!

Join Our Mailing lists

A low traffic mailing list for BioAIMS announcements, such as happy hours, general meetings, and other weekly official BioAIMS events. Only BioAIMS officers can post to this list.

Open discussion list for Biosciences students for diversity, equity, and inclusion issues. Use this mailing list to promote events of interest to, raise issues with, or share relevant articles to the biosciences community. There is no moderation of members posting to this list; we will approve non-member posts on a case-by-case basis.

Attend Our events

We host a variety of events, including but not limited to the following:

  • Annual diversity retreat in Santa Cruz mountains

  • Professional development events

  • Cultural celebrations and social events to build community

  • Wellness events

  • Outreach events targeting underrepresented undergraduate and high school students

Help with an event

  • See a need we're not addressing? Propose an event you would love to attend but you need help making it come true.

  • Are you interested in becoming more involved on campus but you’re not quite ready to commit to being an officer? Please consider helping us plan an event you think grad students would enjoy.

  • Can’t think of any event ideas, that’s okay! Please consider helping us on a per event basis. This is a low commitment way to make new friends and to learn how to become more involved in our community.

  • Wondering what “helping with an event” entails? We can always use a helping hand setting up for events (acquiring ice for social hours, loading and unloading carts full of snacks and beverages, helping students sign in at events, taking pictures at events, posting to our social media….we could go on forever…

  • If you are interested please join the gradeventvolunteers list serv. Volunteers are eligible for free Stanford swag.

Partner with us

  • Being a BioAIMS member is all about forming and maintaining community. Naturally, we LOVE collaborating with diverse student groups.

  • We are eager to collaborate with other campus groups. Please reach out to the relevant officer if you have an idea for a collaboration. We’ve been working closely with SBSA post-COVID but we always want to make new friends.

  • If you have an event that you think would be of interest to BioAIMS, let us know, and we will advertise it to our members.
